Big Island police on Tuesday identified the 61-year old California man who died Saturday after being involved in a one-vehicle crash in Hilo.

Thomas Pokorski of Covina, Califl., was opreating a 2015 Ford four-door sedan and traveling south on Kanoelehua Avenue when he ran off the right side of the road and struck a cement wall, according to the Hawaii Police Department. An autopsy conducted Tuesday determined he died from a medical condition.

Because he died of a medical condition and not as a result of the crash, the death does not count toward the official traffic fatality count.
